Alessandra is a doctoral candidate in Developmental Psychology at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). She places emphasis on creating an open, warm and non-judgemental environment to help children and adolescents understand themselves by focusing on the relations between their thoughts, emotions and behaviours.
Her training and experience has been in a several settings, including the Centre de services psychologiques, Montreal Children’s Hospital and Jewish General Hospital, as well as volunteering with Batshaw Youth and Family services.
At MindSpace clinic, Alessandra provides psychological assessments for children and adolescents who are struggling at school and/or not attaining their developmental milestones, with the aim to help parents understand these difficulties and provide individually tailored recommendations to help the child or adolescent reach their full potential. Alessandra also provides therapy for children and adolescents. She primarily uses a Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach while working with children and adolescents who are struggling with a variety of difficulties including anxiety, depression, stress, adjusting to life transitions, managing emotions, social skills, opposition and defiance.
