Dr. Jacinthe Lemelin received her PhD in clinical psychology (cognitive-behavioural approach) from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM) in 2014. At the MindSpace Clinic, Dr. Lemelin offers individual therapy in French and English, using a flexible and evidenced-based approach adapted to each client’s needs.
Over the course of her doctoral degree, Dr. Lemelin acquired specialized expertise via training at the psychiatric cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) unit, emergency services, and the chronic pain unit at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal; and at the burns and intensive care units of the University of Montreal Hospital Centre (CHUM). She also trained at the renowned Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Lemelin specializes in treating anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and adjustment disorders. She has a personal and professional interest in mindfulness-based approaches, and integrates mindfulness into her clinical work.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Lemelin conducts research on violence in domestic partnerships and post-traumatic stress, and trains clinical intervention workers.
