Dr. Hogue obtained his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Université du Québec à Montréal in 2015. During his training and clinical internships, he acquired a specializing in so-called “third wave” cognitive behavioral therapies that incorporate mindfulness interventions. He is a psychologist and member of the OPQ.
Dr. Hogue offers psychotherapy services for adolescents, adults, and the elderly. His main approach involves the use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). His work aims to help his clients be more psychologically flexible by promoting acceptance and by developing the ability to observe and relate more skillfully to difficult emotions, thoughts, feelings and memories. This work ultimately aims to help clients regain the ability to do what matters in various aspects of their lives.
In addition to using ACT, Dr. Hogue’s approach is founded on solution focused brief psychotherapy, which allows his clients to find rapid and sustainable solutions for the issues they are struggling with. His work is also based on positive psychotherapy, which aims to promote happiness and well-being by cultivating positive emotions, developing character strengths, and creating meaning in life.Dr. Hogue works with clients primarily in French.
