Dr. Karine St-Jean is a psychologist and member of the Quebec Order of Psychologists since 2004. She obtained her PhD in psychology at the UQAM in 2008, with a specialization in health psychology. Her therapy style is cognitive-behavioral. For the last 10 years, she worked as an entrepreneur, psychologist, manager, speaker, and consultant in the field of rehabilitation and health at work, helping employees and managers to cope with the challenges of reconciling work and health.
As a therapist, Dr. St-Jean has an active and practical approach. Her non-judgemental and open attitude allows her to meet her clients where they are in their life and to offer them a space to pursue their goals, reduce their stress, improve their mood, and better adjust to the many challenges of life.
She works with an adult clientele struggling with stress, depression, anxiety and adjustment difficulties as well as with people dealing with persistent pain or physical illness. Her expertise also leads her to frequently intervene with workers and managers with personal or work related issues.
As a coach, Dr. St-Jean integrates her experiences as an entrepreneur and a manager to her practice in psychology to offer a concrete and practical approach. In this context, Dr. St-Jean accompanies managers, professionals and all type of workers in managerial coaching, career counselling, and skills development. Her goal is to support professional growth and accomplishment with interventions focused on each client’s values, objectives, and goals.
Dr. St-Jean integrates a practice of mindfulness meditation to her daily routine and believes that this practice is a great tool to manage stress, make better choices, and cope with the challenges of life. She is particularly interested in integrating these tools in psychotherapy and in the workplace. Dr. St-Jean completed the “Complexity, Conscience et Gestion” course from Laval University, and had the opportunity to incorporate mindfulness tools to her managerial skills with a team of professionals.
